Then another friend was about to give birth and I took the quilt out and decided to finish it and give it to her as a gift, and this time I almost finished sewing all the squares together. But somehow I didn't finish it, again, and again the baby was three months old and again we bought another gift and again I left the quilt aside and forgot about it.
Then, a year and a half ago, when I was pregnant with the baby, I saw it sitting there and decided to finish it this time, no matter what. Miraculously, I did. A month before giving birth it was already washed, waiting for the baby.
And I have a feeling that somewhere inside, I just knew that this quilt, my first quilt (and let's face it, most probably my last quilt as well), should stay with me.

DeleteGreat job. I have a quilt in a box that I started for my daughter when she was 10 and she is 31 now maybe someday I will get it finished.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I thought I was the worst :)
DeleteCan I challenge you to finish it and share with us?
Thanks for stopping by!
That turned out really nice, I wish I had the talent and patience to do something like that!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It does require a lot of patience...
DeleteIve always loved quilts and wanted to try making one- but unfortunately Im not very crafty and i have a short attention span lol this post kinda underlined what I already knew- Im better off buying one lol thanks for saving me the money on wasted supplies!
ReplyDeletePS- Yours looks gorgeous though!
LOL! Thanks :)
DeleteIt was kind of an adventure, I'm very happy I managed to finish it at the end...
It looks beautiful and was meant to be yours! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I feel the same!
DeleteIt's beautiful! And good for you for finishing it! I'd love to attempt a quilt, but I know that I would probably never finish. Maybe I'll create my first (and probably last) quilt when my kids are out of toddlerhood.
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI feel the same - it's not easy doing this kind of things with toddlers running around the house. Sometimes I actually fantasize about being old...
It's a beautiful quilt. It was just meant to be for you. Glad you were able to finish it at last. I'm now following on bloglovin :)
ReplyDeleteThanks :) That's exactly how I feel!
DeleteI love your story...I'm especially prone to procrastination as well, except at Christmas time, when I'm frantically trying to catch up on all the homemade gifts I should have been working on year round, not just in November and December, lol. I love your beautiful quilt though, it must have definitely been meant for your little one.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I know, I also have those times of the year, when I find myself crafting like crazy, and other time when I hardly go into my craft room. Wish I just had the energy to craft all year round!
DeleteIt looks awesome! I love it Tal!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shay :)
DeleteCongratulations! You should think about quilting another because this is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathy! I actually promised two days ago to someone from a FB group that I will, one day, quilt another one. I will have to take a deep breath before, though...
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
