Teacup Pincushion Tutorial

One of the things I love the most is giving (and getting, of course) a hand-made gift. A gift you've made yourself shows that you care. You didn't just stopped by the shop around the corner to get fancy soap / book / body lotion / bottle of wine / whatever. So here's a cute hand-made gift, that is also perfect for someone who likes to sew and likes pretty things. And it's also perfect for you, gift giver, because it'll take you exactly 5 minutes to make.

You'll need:
A nice teacup
Fabric scrap measuring approx. 40*40cm (15.7"*15.7")
Fiberfill stuffing
Rubber Band
Glue (I like to use a hot glue gun)

A nice teacup

Now take your fabric scrap and place the fiberfill stuffing in the middle of it. Wrap the stuffing with the fabric and tie with rubber band.

If you got a long tail, like mine, it's better to cut it off a little

Apply glue inside the cup and glue the fabric with the fiberfill stuffing inside.
That's it! Easy, right?

And here are all the steps together, just to remind you how easy it was to make it.

  2. Really like this. I am not a sewer, only wish I could but never had anyone to teach me. Trying myself didn't work at all...haha. I made a mess every time I tried

  6. This is really nice - although I do not sew my Mom does and I think I will make it for her with a teacup I have that was part of an old set of my grandma. My mother will appreciate having it and will remember her Mom when she uses it.
