A month before my little girl's 3rd birthday, we began thinking. What shall we get her? What would she like? At the beginning we though that we'd get her a pet (she's obsessed with animals. Any animal. Seriously,
any animal. Including insects, spiders and even cockroaches, which she strokes gently...). Eventually we decided that the 2 cats (that since then have adopted for us another friend) and the countless insects we have (we do live in the country, after all) are good enough for now. So we kept thinking and thinking and thinking and thinking. And then, just a week before the big day, I saw
this amazing felt picnic basket, and knew immediately that this was it. I started cutting, sewing and weaving, and surprisingly, I finished it on time. I used the tutorial to make the basket (although mine came out higher) and added a 4 flowers. I also sewed felt food. Lots of food... And I'm very happy to say that she loved it, and she takes all of her dolls to daily picnics around the house.
I will soon post some tutorials to some of the felt foods, but for now - some pictures (it will allow you to start working on your basket first...).
